As a vegan I was not told what I would be offered as main course and the surprise was unpleasant : three dirty sautéed carrots. Then when we asked what was there for dessert the waiter started by saying that there was nothing for me to eat. He could at least offer an orange, I thought, but realised it was unnecessary to try to explain him what veganism means.
