In short - while overall it was ok, the service was below our expectations with serious lack of attention and care and the decor of the "new emptyness" did not feel comfortable. Indeed, there were many aspects we enjoyed - especially one of the waitresses taking special care of elder parents needs. However, the main waitress¿s attitude and lack of care did lead through the night and culminated in a dish being served, that was specifically excluded. The way this situation was than handled was not what I am accustomed to either. The "no menu" concept is commercially good for the restaurant and understandable, but than it should deliver what has been promised and avoid what has been clearly stated as "no goes". No pork means - no pork! We were "sold" on the "fresh market based ingredient" menu "Carte Blanche" though I am not sure, at which market the chef actually goes shopping in Luxembourg. The whole menu had very few seasonal, local or specific to Easter ingredients or dishes. The downside of a very "empty" decor, is that one can focus on other parties tables and plates and could easily observe how different services were dispensed at different tables and the very different levels of customary care between courses. Same applies to dishes, especially when sizing portions. The food overall (excluding the faux pas) was ok - but nothing surprising or exceptional - most of the creations have been served in similar restaurants around the world for years and this has gotten very boring - if not too commoditised. As a frequent guest in Michelin star restaurants across the world (living between NYC, Frankfurt and Luxembourg) who enjoys the food scene in Luxembourg very much, this visit was under-delivered, overprized and nothing to be repeated.
